The Journal of the South Pacific Educators in Vision Impairment, The annual Journal of SPEVI is an important vehicle for informing researchers, administrators, professionals and parents about research, issues and policies, and their implications for practice in the South Pacific Region. Articles submitted for publication undergo “blind peer review” by the JSPEVI Editorial Advisory Panel of leaders and practitioners in the field of vision impairment.
Members of the SPEVI Editorial Committee are Dr Bronwen Scott (Convening Editor), Dr Frances Gentle, Dr Elaine Gilmore, Dr Mike Steer and Assoc. Prof. Paul Pagliano.
SPEVI has created Professional Standards that elaborate upon the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers (Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership, 2014), highlighting the additional professional standards for teachers who have completed postgraduate study in order to qualify as specialist teachers (vision impairment).
The SPEVI Standards Elaborations elaborate on, and are in addition to, the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers (Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership, 2014). The Standards Elaborations also elaborate on the SPEVI Professional Standards for Specialist Teachers (Vision Impairment) (2015).
